About BEPAD

Bureau d’Études pour la Promotion des Actions Sociales et le Développement Communautaire (BEPAD) is a Congolese organization established in 2004 with the mission of promoting sustainable community development and improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations across the Democratic Republic of Congo.

For over two decades, BEPAD has been delivering high-quality technical expertise in project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. We work closely with communities, public institutions, and international partners to provide practical, evidence-based, and sustainable solutions tailored to local realities.

our Objectives

  • To promote a culture of peace, democracy, and the protection of human rights.

    • To advance gender equality and strengthen the participation of young women and girls in the governance of community institutions for endogenous (locally driven) development.

    • To facilitate access for women and vulnerable populations to basic social services, including health, education, food security, water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), shelter, and a safe and supportive environment.

    • To support young women and vulnerable communities in economic empowerment processes through innovative approaches such as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), income-generating activities (IGAs), youth champions, women champions, and similar initiatives.

    • To promote children’s education (both girls and boys out of school).

    • To mobilize the participation of all community structures by strengthening their capacities and supporting their efforts toward peaceful conflict resolution and social cohesion.

BEPAD operates across Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo with active coordination offices in:

  • North Kivu (Goma)

  • South Kivu (Bukavu)

  • Ituri (Bunia)

This regional presence allows us to maintain strong proximity to communities and ensure effective project implementation.

BEPAD is supported by a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified professionals, including experts in public health, rural development, economics, law, conflict resolution, project management, logistics, and community development.

Our permanent team operates across our three coordination offices, supported by a network of consultants recruited from civil society, universities, national research institutions, and public enterprises, depending on project needs.
